DJIBOUTI AND ERITREA NEED TO NORMALIZE RELATIONS

  Littoral countries The imperatives of geography and history made Djibouti and Eritrea neighbors and bequeathed them strategic lands and maritime assets indispensable to global security, commerce and trade. They, together with Somalia, dominate the longest, contiguous coastline on the Red Sea and Indian Ocean. Geopolitical imperatives of the Horn of Africa call for, even compel, mutually beneficial alliance and long-term partnership. It’s time for Djibouti and Eritrea to normalize relations. A perpetual state of hostility is costly to both. A zero-sum game is infinitely worse.  A win-win option would yield optimum gain for both; and, more importantly, promote regional peace, stability and economic cooperation.  For over a century, the region has been brutalized and bankrupted by wars waged for hegemonic purposes or imperial hubris. Such foul ambitions and suprematist fantasies still animate and intoxicate new cohorts of fanaticism and extremism. But these represent the past. The futur

The First and Only President of Somalia

  President Aden Abdulla Osman Aden A. Osman (MGBHS) was the First and Only President who ruled a whole, sovereign and relatively democratic Somalia. The first and only who governed and finished his term with wisdom, consensus, and diligence. The first and only who handed over power peacefully and a fairly coherent country. The first and only who lived and died in his homeland as an ordinary citizen with dignity and honor.  May the memory and legacy of the founding and first President console his beloved Somalia. Guide and enlighten the cohorts for whom fealty to the honeypot of power and foul ambition takes precedent over the solemn oaths sworn in the name of the Almighty God and in the best interest of the nation.
